Hi! My name is Lexie Danner. I live in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina with my husband, step-daughter, dog, cat, turtle, and two chickens. I have always been drawn to the inner journey. It is a thrill and honor to be able to share that journey with another. A healing modality I have discovered is Emotional Freedom Techniques, sometimes known as tapping. EFT brings together science, ancient healing methods (acupressure), language, and mindfulness into a simple, gentle technique for clearing obstacles to natural self-expression. It has been used to treat anxiety, trauma, to clarify and actualize goals, and to remove obstacles to personal growth, among other things. It is easy to learn and can be used independently or with the help of a practitioner. Art has been a soul salve for me for as long as I can remember. I’ve made art for others, and myself, and used it therapeutically in our community. Twice a month I bring an art project to the Hospitality House. I have often heard people say, “This is so good for me,” and a sigh of letting go as they melt into the creative process. I believe the art making process helps us speak an inner language that we don’t always give voice to.
